Amberjack is a versatile hybrid kayak/SUP that excels in fishing and adventure activities with a maximum capacity of 497 lbs showcasing an EPS foam filled core, it handles heavier weight loads with ease.

Enjoy exceptional stability, tracking, and a smooth ride on lakes, rivers, and oceans. Weighing in at 71 lbs, it's easy to transport with rubber carry handles at the bow, stern, and sides.

Amberjack features three storage bungee areas and multiple accessory tracks for customization with accessories like the Vanhunks aluminum seat or Garmin fish finder. 

Featuring swivel rod holders and accessory tracks for additional gear and gadgets, cast out and relax on the adjustable aluminum seat (included) or secure a cooler box as a seat.

Amberjack combines the best features of a SUP and a kayak with Vanhunks' renowned technology. It measures 34 inches wide and can be paddled with a kayak or SUP paddle. Secure your gear using the bungee storage areas equipped with premium quality fixtures.

FAQ

Q:

The Amberjack is heavy, will this not affect the performance?

A:

The Amberjack is slightly heavier than regular SUPs as its manufacture and purpose require that it is a lot more rugged than other Sups. It has a foam inner layered with 5m m Polyethylene which gives the Amberjack its weight but also its immense strength. Once you are on the water its sleek design allows for an easy glide through the water and that easy glide adds to its speed and performance.

Q:

Is there an easy way to transport the Amberjack to the waterway?

A: 

Yes, we manufacture a SUP Trolley that will make moving your Amberjack around effortless. Simply place the Amberjack into the SUP cart cradle (the rubber carrying arms) and use a single tiedown to secure it in place and then pull it down to the water’s edge.

Q:

 I don’t have great balance; will I not just fall off?

A:

When we designed the Amberjack, the aim was to create a very stable platform that moved effortlessly through the water. The length and width add loads of volume to the hybrid and its rounded rail design helps the rails of the Amberjack from dipping when you adjust your weight, and this keeps the Amberjack balanced and stable. 

Q:

What is the max carrying the weight of the Amberjack?

A:

The Amberjack has a mass carrying capability of 165kgs so there is more than enough carrying and floatation for even the biggest of paddlers.

Q:

Does the Amberjack come in different sizes?

A:

We only sell the 12ft. At 12 ft in length, the Amberjack performs perfectly as its overall volume from its size, width, and height are perfectly balanced to create a stable high-performance platform.

Q:

What are the rails for?

A:

The rails mounted on the Amberjack are accessory rails and you can use them
for adding extra rod holders, action cameras, or any other needed
attachment. To attach to the accessory rails you would need a screw that
has a plate attachment so you can secure your gear by sliding the plate
into the accessory rail and connecting the item used by screwing the
screw into the plate to secure.

Q:

Could I attach a seat?

A:

Yes,
you can by using the accessory rails and bungee to secure the seat in
position on the surface of the Amberjack. Once the seat is secured you
need not worry about the seat sliding or moving as your weight will keep
the seating in its position.

Q:

Could I ride waves with the Amberjack?

A:

The
Amberjack was designed for all waterways from smooth conditions to open
seas however due to its weight and single-keel design and the fact that
it doesn’t have a rudder in place means you would need to work hard
with your paddle to keep the Amberjack from turning offline. Small waves
and a little beach break however will be fine.

Q:

Do I need to wear a leash?

A:

Wearing
a leash is a personal preference as some riders find the leash a
hindrance. It’s great to secure your items but keep in mind that for
lighter smaller riders the sheer weight and force of the waves pulling
the Amberjack may cause damage or create a hazard. If you are paddling
in easy conditions where the waves are small and the water is calm then a
leash to keep the SUP close to you is a good idea.

Q:

Can I load the Amberjack on my roof racks alone?

A:

The
Amberjack weighs just over 25kgs and this weight along with its 12ft in
length can prove troublesome to load for some paddlers as the tilt from
the Amberjack’s length when lifting would make the lift unbalanced and
this would cause stress on yourself. If you do struggle, then you can
make use of a kayak load roller which attaches to your back window with
suction cups and allows you to roll your Amberjack onto the racks and
this will ease the pickup action as well as the tilt.

Q:

Is the Amberjack a fishing Sup?

A:

The
Amberjack is a Hybrid. A mix between a kayak and a stand-up paddle board. It can be used as a fishing platform or simply as a family recreational toy. The idea was to get the best of both the SUP and a kayak and combine them to have one craft that does it all.

CARE
  • Always store kayak in a shaded area and out of direct sunlight.
  • Do not hang your kayak through the handles.
  • Store your kayak on the side with the weight evenly displaced.
  • Do not tie or try to secure your kayak through the handles.
  • To avoid warping, ensure your kayak’s weight displacement is even during storage.
  • Do not over tighten your kayak, especially in hot conditions as this can distort your kayak’s shape.
WARRANTY

WARRANTY POLICY

-- Vanhunks USA warrants that this product, when purchased from an authorized Vanhunks USA dealer by a retail customer, will be free from defects in materials and workmanship for 60-months from the date of purchase by the original retail customer. All hardware, inserts, and components carry a 12-month warranty. This warranty is solely for the benefit of the original retail purchaser and may not be assigned. For retail customer Limited Warranty claims, proof of purchase from an authorized Vanhunks USA dealer is required.

The warranty is valid only when the product is registered in the support section of www.vanhunksusa.com within seven (7) days from the date of purchase.

The warranty is valid only when this product is used for normal recreational activities and does not cover products used in rental or commercial operations. Vanhunks USA will make the final warranty determination, which may require inspection and photos of the equipment, clearly showing the defect(s). If necessary, this information must be sent to the Vanhunks distributor in your country.

If a product is deemed defective by Vanhunks USA, the warranty covers the repair or replacement of the faulty product. However, Vanhunks USA will not be responsible for any costs, losses, or damages incurred due to the failure of this product’s use.

This warranty is void if any unauthorized repair, change, or modification has been made to any part of the equipment.

The warranty for any repaired or replaced equipment is effective from the date of the original purchase only.

The original purchase receipt must accompany all warranty claims. In addition, the name of the retailer and date of purchase must be clear and legible.

There are no warranties that extend beyond the warranty specified herein.

Any repair or replacement of any product under this Limited Warranty is not available for ordinary wear and tear, including scratches or paint chips, or any damage caused by misuse, abuse, unauthorized modification or repairs, accident, heat, excessive exposure to sunlight, excessive exposure to cold, improper handling, storage, maintenance or care; incorrect setup, use in commercial, rental or teaching environments; use in reef waves, shore break or off the water; any blow or impact with a hard object or any other irresponsible use.

THE PRECEDING LIMITED WARRANTY IS EXCLUSIVE AND IN LIEU OF ALL OTHER WARRANTIES OF QUALITY, PERFORMANCE, WRITTEN, ORAL, OR IMPLIED, AND ALL OTHER WARRANTIES, INCLUDING ANY IMPLIED WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY OR FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, ARE HEREBY DISCLAIMED. IN NO EVENT SHALL VANHUNKS BOARDING BE LIABLE FOR SPECIAL, INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, STATUTORY OR EXEMPLARY DAMAGES, WHETHER IN CONTRACT, TORT, NEGLIGENCE, STRICT LIABILITY OR OTHERWISE including, without limitation, loss to property other than this product, loss of use of the said product, or other property or other economic losses.

 

RETURNING MERCHANDISE

You can return most new, unopened items within 14 days of delivery but there will be a 20% handling and restocking fee and and return shipping costs will be paid by the customer. 

Products can be returned directly to Vanhunks USA only if Vanhunks USA provides a Return Manufacturer Authorization (RMA) in advance. The Return Manufacturer Authorization must be clearly labeled on the outside of the package, or the parcel will be refused and returned to you. Vanhunks USA is not liable for loss of items returned without an RMA in advance. All merchandise with an RMA must be shipped back to Vanhunks USA within seven days of the date that the RMA was issued (you may send by any method you choose). Please retain your shipping confirmation for proof of shipping within seven days of RMA creation until you have received a refund or exchange from Vanhunks USA for the returned product. Any return that not shipped within the seven-day window will be refused, and the RMA will be null and void.

 

TO GET AN RMA NUMBER, FOLLOW THESE INSTRUCTIONS:

  • Complete the Warranty claim form on the support section of the Vanhunks USA website. The RMA number will be sent to you via email within 72 hours.

 What you will need to provide:

  1. Proof of purchase, date, and place of purchase, and original purchase price.
  2. Kayak serial number (engraved on starboard stern), model name, and color.
  3. Consumer name, address and telephone number.
  4. A detailed description of the problem.
  • Secure your equipment inside the original shipping box. If the original packaging materials are unavailable, you must obtain and use similar packaging materials and make every effort to ensure that the product is not damaged during shipping. Make sure to include all packaging, including any protective wrapping. Please also include a copy of the original packing slip with your return.
  • Write your RMA number on the box in LARGE letters next to the shipping address. For example, “RMA 1140.”

  • Any unauthorized or improperly packaged merchandise will be returned to the sender.
  • Items not purchased directly from Vanhunks USA (via www.vanhunksusa.com) still receive the same Fair and Reasonable Timeframe Warranty but are warranted through the original place of purchase only. Please contact the original place of purchase for warranty claims.

  • Alterations or repairs not done or authorized by Vanhunks USA.
  • Damage from sunlight or improper recreational use or care.
  • Warranty request without proof of purchase.
  • Products used for promotional use.
  • Product used for commercial use eg. For example, rentals, lodges, tours.
  • Fair wear and tear.
  • Product to have been subject to abnormal use, misuse, abuse, negligence, accidents, damage due to environmental or natural elements (extreme weather conditions), or improper storage.
  • Kayaks that have been towed by power or sailboats.
  • Kayaks are secured, stored, or tied to a vehicle through the handles.
  • Kayaks sold as “demos” or in “as is” condition.
  • Scratches
  • Damage or defects caused by collisions, abuse, misuse, or accidental damage.
  • Damage or defects caused by transport, loading, unloading, dropping, out of water handling, or similar.
  • Damage or defects caused by exposure to temperatures over 70 and under 0 degrees Celsius.
